Presenting the 2020 SCA Sweden Chapter Committee

Sweden-2x.png

SCA members in Sweden cast their ballots in the 2020 elections to select their new leadership. Today, we are pleased to welcome the SCA Sweden Chapter’s new committee:

  • National Coordinator: Per Holmberg

  • Community Coordinator: Vincent Caroni

  • Education Coordinator: Anthony Huy Nguyen

  • Events Coordinator: Alexander Ntatsos

  • Marketing & Communications Coordinator: Fatima Wedberg

As announced to SCA members in Sweden on October 7, voting took place only for the National Coordinator Position. All other coordinator positions were uncontested— with only one nominee per position— and therefore there no voting was necessary for those positions.

The breakdown of the votes for the National Coordinator position was as follows:

  • Per Holmberg - 71%

  • Ronald Ylavh Rengifo Pezo - 29%

Special thanks to all nominees who put their name forward in this election and thanks to SCA members for their commitment to the SCA Sweden Chapter. We urge the community to please continue to support the committee in their upcoming two-year term. To connect with the new leadership of the chapter, email them directly at sca.se@sca.coffee, visit their website, and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

We wish the new committee every success with the continued development of the local coffee community. As a reminder, you can learn more about the roles and responsibilities of each position on our website.

Vincent Caroni

Community Coordinator

Hi! I'm Vincent. I have been working in the specialty coffee industry for five years. During those years I've discovered that the Swedish specialty coffee community is filled with knowledgeable, engaged and passionate people.

But still, our community isn't very vibrant and alive. I believe in people, and when bringing people together great things can be achieved. Great things like advancing and developing the entire Swedish coffee scene can then be achieved.

Our community is supposed to reflect our industry, it's supposed to reflect that passion, engagement and knowledge.

Anthony Huy Nguyen

Education Coordinator

I'm Anthony Huy Nguyen and have worked with coffee since 2008. I'm the Swedish Coffee Roasting Champion 2019, Swedish Barista of All Barista 2019. I'm also a Sensory Judge in Scandinavia and Asia. I work as a Coffee Manager at Alkemisten. In 2019 I founded the Consulting firm The Coffee Connections and I’m also a founder of a roastery called Ritu Coffee Roastery since 2020.

Coffee has a special place in my heart. Drinking coffee is my form of meditation, it helps me to clear my thoughts and focus my mind. When it comes to coffee, every sip is an astonishing experience and an emotional journey.

I’m Alexandros Ntatsos and have been living in Stockholm for the last 4 years. I work at Lofbergs flagship store as a barista, roaster and coffee education.  It was summer 07’ when I got my first experience behind a coffee bar, just before my studies in Architecture. I competed in Swedish Latte Art Championship 2018&2019 and I represented Sweden in the World championships Brazil & Germany.

It is my honor and I feel very excited to be nominated as a Coordinator for SCA Sweden. I am ready to be part of a team that will lift up the Specialty Coffee scene in Sweden.

What is the role of an SCA Chapter?

SCA Chapter volunteers embody the values of specialty coffee by working to deliver education, events, and research to their regional communities. The Chapter personifies the vision and mission of the SCA in all activities. SCA Chapter elections enable SCA members to vote and select the volunteer committee who will be leading their local chapter's activities for the next two years. Learn more about SCA Chapters here.
