Re:co Fellowship & Scholarship Applications Are Now Open
Today we are delighted to announce that the Re:co Fellowship and Re:co Scholarship programs are now open for applications. The Re:co Fellowship, now in its eighth year, is designed to welcome and support emerging leaders in coffee and related fields by giving them the chance to share their work with members of the broader Re:co audience, who in turn get a glimpse of some of the most exciting initiatives in coffee. The Re:co Fellowship program is made possible thanks to the generous support of illycafè and the Ernesto Illy Foundation. A Scholarship ticket fund is also being formally introduced for Re:co to directly address financial accessibility for anyone desiring to attend the event, regardless of their level of coffee industry experience. The Re:co Scholarship program is supported by Pacific Foods Barista Series.
Applications for Fellowship will be open from March 24-31 for Re:co, which is based in the Pacific time zone. Participants from all time zones are welcome to apply, though there may be restrictions on Experience Kit shipping depending on location. Detailed application information for the 2021 Re:co Fellowship can be found at recosymposium.org/fellowship.
In 2020, Re:co went fully digital due to COVID-19 restrictions, and with COVID putting further financial strain on businesses, community leaders highlighted the financial barriers that can prevent some people from individuals and businesses from attending Re:co, and started grassroots ticket sponsorship drives, which SCA supported with discounts and coordination. To further support the community this year, the SCA will host a Scholarship ticket lottery. Registration for scholarship tickets is open from March 24-31, with a drawing on April 2nd using a random lottery system. Full details on the scholarship program can be found at recosymposium.org/scholarship.
